In an era where public comments can quickly spark controversy, renowned gospel group Daughters of Glorious Jesus has urged young creatives to approach fame with patience, restraint, and wisdom.

The gospel group believes that the ability to be calm and measured in speech is one of the most valuable qualities any artiste can possess.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the gospel group mentioned that being thoughtful before reacting, especially in a public space, is a mark of maturity and professionalism.

“Let’s be slow to speak and quick to listen. In today’s world, where reactions can be instantaneous, it’s essential to take a step back, reflect and respond thoughtfully. Every artiste represents something bigger than themselves, so we must learn to speak with grace and wisdom,” they advised.

They explained that the urge to respond quickly to criticism or controversy, especially on social media, has led many artistes to damage their reputations.

They further urged younger artistes to learn from veterans who have managed to stay dignified despite harsh public scrutiny.

The gospel veterans noted that silence can sometimes be powerful than any public defence or online argument.

“It’s easy to get drawn into arguments, especially online, but not every battle is worth fighting. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words. Fame comes with pressure, criticism and harsh judgment. The best way to protect your integrity is to stay calm, focused and grounded. As gospel musicians, our lives should reflect the values we preach: patience, humility and self-control,” they said.

The group also appealed to the media to play a constructive role in promoting a healthier entertainment culture.

They called on journalists and media platforms to focus on uplifting and inspiring content rather than stories that stir conflict or rivalry.

“The media has enormous influence. If we focus on building each other up instead of tearing one another down, the creative space will become a much healthier, more inspiring industry for everyone,” they noted.
