Michael Jordan‘s annual summer cruise of the Mediterranean has crossed paths with Erling Haaland‘s own seasonal voyage, resulting in a memorable photo of the two from the South of France.
‘No caption needed,’ Haaland captioned the picture of himself and Jordan on X.
The smiling 63-year-old Chicago Bulls legend is seen in a white T-shirt, khaki shorts and a baseball hat in the photo, while the 26-year-old Haaland sports a grin and has his arm draped around Jordan’s shoulder.
Although Haaland is reliably the tallest person in most photos, the supposedly 6ft 5in (1.95m) Norwegian striker appears a couple of inches shorter than Jordan, who has been listed at 6ft 6in since 1981.
‘Erling you look like a minion next to Jordan,’ read one comment on X.
Another added: ‘I love how athletes could look so tall in their own sport until they stand next to basketball players.’

Many other reactions focused on the usually stoic Jordan, who couldn’t contain his mutual excitement.
‘I’ve never seen Jordan smile like this,’ one fan wrote. ‘Everyone loves Haaland.’
For Jordan, summers have increasingly centered on the Mediterranean, where he and wife Yvette have been regularly seen aboard a family yacht estimated to be worth $115 million. And they don’t travel alone, but rather, are often accompanied by the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Magic Johnson and even Samuel L. Jackson.
Such travels could become habit forming for Haaland, who has been on his own Mediterranean odyssey since the Manchester City star led Norway to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
On Thursday, Norway’s favorite son was joined by his brother and friends at the five-star Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, where he was seen boarding a boat for an excursion at sea.

A week earlier, the Manchester City striker attended teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma’s wedding in Southern Italy with partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen. The Norway star, fresh from accumulating an army of new fans at the World Cup, opted for a black suit, bow-tie and sunglasses as he happily walked hand-in-hand with Johansen.
He was later filmed leading a group of guests in recreating Norway’s iconic ‘rowing’ celebration from the tournament in North America.
Prior to that, Haaland turned 26 alongside Johansen in Sardinia, where he was pictured wearing a Viking helmet.
’26 years,’ he wrote on Instagram. ‘Nice.’
Haaland’s extended off-season break is nearly over. He was allowed to miss the team’s Asian tour, but will be expected to rejoin Manchester City prior to the Community Shield match with Arsenal on August 16 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
