Popular Ghanaian media personality Abena Moet has urged women to rethink the kinds of gifts they give their partners.
According to her, men are tired of receiving items such as underwear and handkerchiefs for their birthdays and special days.
Speaking during a discussion on Neat FM, the outspoken show host said men had asked her to pass on the clear message to women ahead of birthdays and Valentine’s Day.
“Enough with the boxers and handkerchiefs; they do not want them again. The men have told me to tell you ladies that this time around, they are no longer taking boxers, singlets, handkerchiefs and socks as gifts,” she said.

Moet noted that these items have become the default gifts men receive for special occasions, while women, on the other hand, are often treated to more thoughtful and expensive presents.
“Meanwhile, these men get up and buy things like money bouquets, phones, flowers, chocolates, cakes and many more. Yet the woman pays back with nighties in the evening,” she added.
According to her, men also deserve to feel appreciated and celebrated in relationships, especially on Valentine’s Day.
She called on women to put in more effort and match the energy they receive from their partners.
“The men say they are tired. They don’t want just anything for Valentine’s Day. Women, make an effort. Give them what they give you, too,” Moet stated.
She suggested that men would appreciate gifts such as roses, iPhones, designer outfits, expensive perfumes and romantic getaway trips, stressing that men, too, enjoy being pampered.
“These men, too, are ‘baby boys’,” she added.
