Gospel musician, Empress Gifty (L) and Afia Schwarzenegger (R) have clashed online
Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty and socialite Afia Schwarzenegger have clashed online following comments made by the late Daddy Lumba’s family head on United Showbiz.
Recently, during a discussion on November 15, 2025, the late musician’s family head (Abusuapanyin) Kofi Owusu, was asked to clarify allegations that he withdrew GH¢30,000 from Lumba’s one-week observation contributions to pay hotel fees.
The Abusuapanyin, in his address, firmly denied such claims, emphasising that the money was used strictly for funeral-related expenses and not for personal gain.
He insisted that the financial burden of the ongoing funeral preparations has been heavy, especially as the family awaits contributions from the government and other supporters.

After the show, Afia Schwarzenegger, a supporter of the ‘Abusuapanyin-Odo Broni faction’ in the ongoing Daddy Lumba family feud, took to the internet to criticise Empress Gifty for discussing what she described as confidential family matters on national television.
Afia Schwarzenegger questioned the United Showbiz host, Empress Gifty, on why she did not address similar issues on her show when her mother passed away in 2024.
“How much does homeless Adorye give you for you to go on TV and discuss issues happening in Lumba’s family? When your mother passed on, did you call your family head to interview him on United Showbiz about how much was spent on the funeral?
“United Showbiz is such a useless programme, and that was such a useless question. You should concentrate on your own family issues rather than sitting on national television to discuss Lumba’s funeral preparations. Were you expecting him to pay the hotel bills with his personal money for those 37 days?” she said.
Afia Schwarzenegger further lashed out at Empress Gifty, saying, “You are the one providing for Hopeson Adorye because he is jobless, and all he knows is to look for problems, so he is being insulted anyhow. Look at how skinny you have become.”
Empress Gifty, who did not take Afia’s insults lightly, responded.
“By His grace, I have found a good man, and I like my marriage because on my birthday, he went to a jewellery shop and bought expensive jewellery for me. He doesn’t fake, and I prefer my marriage. He is a man who loves his wife with passion.

“We are not rich, but at least we can pay the school fees of others. When I am on United Showbiz, my husband supports me; he even sends me messages to tell me how beautiful I am. Look at how beautiful I have become,” Empress Gifty noted.
Empress added, “My husband asked me to slim down so I can look cute for him. See the way I am looking, noko cute. I am happy where I am, so stop mentioning my name. Some people do not even have men in their lives.”
