emPLE, one of Africa’s leading insurance and financial services brands, proudly concluded its participation in ART X Lagos 2025, returning as a Bronze Sponsor and Presenting Partner of one of the fair’s Special Projects.

The collaboration reflects emPLE’s expanding commitment to fostering sustainable and resilient communities across West Africa.

This year, emPLE supported “Where There Is Life, There Is Hope (B’á ò kú, iṣẹ ò tán)”, an installation by acclaimed artist Temitayo Ogunbiyi, curated by Missla Libsekal. Showcased as part of ART X Lagos’ milestone 10th edition, the project invited audiences to explore how creativity, movement, and care shape more equitable and sustainable futures.

Ogunbiyi’s installation expanded on her multidisciplinary practice, weaving together drawing, sculpture, and site-specific installation to examine the relationships between people, place, and the ecologies that sustain everyday life.

Using a line to explore how people relate to their environments, Ogunbiyi’s work brings together drawing, sculpture, and site-specific installation to encourage reflection on community, care, and the ways urban spaces are continually shaped.

Her distinctive approach draws on material, cultural, botanical, and educational references, prompting audiences to engage with the layered realities of urban life and the shared knowledge systems that sustain communities.

“At emPLE, we view insurance as a platform for possibility. By supporting creativity that advances sustainability, we reaffirm our belief in outcomes shaped through collaboration. As we continue to expand our engagement across the continent, we remain committed to helping communities shape futures defined by resilience, innovation, and shared responsibility,” said Olalekan Oyinade, Managing Director, emPLE.

As ART X Lagos marked its 10th anniversary, the fair welcomed thousands of visitors who engaged deeply with Ogunbiyi’s project and its themes of movement, hope, and collective care.

The installation stood alongside other commissioned works, contributing to a landmark edition that celebrated the breadth of African cultural expression.

“We’re delighted to have partnered once again with emPLE,” said Tokini Peterside-Schwebig, Founder and Chairman of ART X Lagos.

“Their commitment to sustainability, community, and regional impact aligns powerfully with ART X Lagos’ mission. Together, we created a platform that encouraged reflection while advancing conversations that resonate not only in Nigeria, but across the continent.”

Supporting one of ART X Lagos’ Special Projects forms part of emPLE’s broader mission to empower individuals, institutions, and communities to thrive meaningfully and sustainably.

This year’s partnership represents a strategic step in reinforcing emPLE’s growing work in West Africa, where the company continues to build relationships, invest in storytelling, and amplify creativity that advances sustainable development.

The initiative reflects emPLE’s INSPIRE values, Integrity, Nurture, Service, Purpose, Innovation, Respect, and Excellence, and its belief in creativity as a catalyst for shared futures across Africa.

ART X Lagos 2025 was held from November 6–9 at The Federal Palace, Lagos.
