An emotional video of Nana Agradaa’s teenage daughter pleading with the court to release her mother has surfaced online.

In the clip that is gradually going viral, the young girl read a letter in which she was begging the court to show mercy towards her mother who was recently handed a 15-year jail term.

She also sadly revealed that her mother’s imprisonment has left her heartbroken and that she is struggling to cope without maternal care.

    Background To Nana Agradaa’s Sentence

Nana Agradaa, born Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, was once a well-known fetish priestess before rebranding herself as an evangelist and founding the Heaven Way International Ministry.

Despite this religious transformation, she was later found guilty of defrauding members of her church under false pretence.

On July 3, 2025, an Accra Circuit Court sentenced her to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour after convicting her of multiple counts of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement.

She was also fined GHS 300 (25 penalty units) for the advertisement offence. The prosecution proved that Agradaa used her so-called ministry as a front to scam unsuspecting church members of large sums of money with false promises of financial miracles.

Following the sentencing, Agradaa’s legal team swiftly filed an appeal at the Amasaman High Court, arguing that the trial judge had been unduly harsh and prejudiced in handing down such a lengthy sentence. They further contended that the evidence used to convict her was flawed and that the punishment did not fit the crime.

On July 15, 2025, however, the Amasaman High Court dismissed Agradaa’s bail application pending appeal. Justice Richmond Osei-Hwere ruled that there was insufficient legal basis to grant her temporary freedom while the appeal is being heard, noting that the conviction was sound and the appeal showed no strong prospects of success.

The court has since ordered that all trial records and court documents be prepared within 14 days to expedite the appeal hearing process. Nana Agradaa remains in custody as her legal team explores further legal avenues to overturn or reduce the sentence.
