The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, observed a deeply emotional moment as he marked the second anniversary of his mother’s passing.

In a post on his social media handle on August 16, 2025, Dumelo shared a picture of himself dressed in black attire as he knelt at the graveside of Veronica Ama Ampomaa Dumelo, tenderly laying flowers in her memory.

He captioned the image with a heartfelt message, “Yesterday was 2 years since you left us. Continue to rest in perfect peace, my Antoinette Ama Ampomaa Dumelo. Love you mummy.”

Dumelo’s mother passed away on August 15, 2023, after a protracted illness. Her funeral at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra drew prominent figures and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate her life and legacy.

Dumelo has frequently spoken of his mother as his greatest supporter and guiding light. Two years on, his public tribute reflects a bond that neither time nor distance can erode.

Just a few months ago in March 2025, another personal tragedy struck when Dumelo lost his father, Ing John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr, at the age of 75.

Dumelo’s post was met with an outpouring of love and support from fans, followers and well-wishers who shared words of encouragement and condolences with him.
