Ghana international Emmanuel Gyasi Quartsin delivered an assist as Empoli fell to Lecce in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The former Black Stars forward started and played full throttle of the match as Empoli succumbed to a 3-1 home defeat to Lecce in the highly competitive clash held at the Stadio Carlo Castellani – Computer Gross Arena.

Despite defeat, the former Spezia Calcio star delivered a top-class performance for Empoli in the week 20 clash.

Lecce opened the scoring just six minutes into the match through Tete Morente after he was set up by Santiago Pierotti before Nikola Krstovic doubled the advantage for the visitors, five minutes later.

After recces, Empoli pulled one back through Liberato Cacace after connecting from Gyasi’s assist, just two minutes into the second half of the clash.

But a stoppage-time goal from Nikola Krstovic cemented the win for Lecce as they secured maximum points in the much-anticipated clash.

The 31-year-old Ghanaian forward has now scored two goals and provided two assists from 20 games in the Serie A this season.

In all competitions, Gyasi has racked up 23 matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists across the period.
