The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIWAK Natural Health, producers of the 3P Garlic Mixture, Dr Prince Nelson Mortoti, has called on Ghanaians to go beyond setting New Year resolutions and focus on consistency, discipline, and civic responsibility as key drivers of success and national development.

In a press release to mark the New Year, Dr Mortoti noted that while many people begin each year with enthusiasm and determination, that zeal often wanes as the months progress, leading to abandoned or poorly pursued goals.

He stressed that the difference between setting goals and achieving them lies in sustained commitment.

According to him, individuals, particularly those who serve as the backbone of their families, must strive for success through hard work, discipline, and by God’s grace and Allah’s guidance.

He identified Article 41 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution as a powerful yet underutilised tool that can help shape character, guide behaviour, and promote both personal and national progress.

Dr Mortoti explained that Article 41 outlines the fundamental duties and obligations of every Ghanaian citizen, emphasising that rights come with responsibilities.

These duties include promoting national unity, respecting and defending the constitution, working conscientiously, protecting public properties, paying taxes, safeguarding the environment, and contributing to community development.

He, therefore, urged tutors and educators to deliberately teach and explain Article 41 to students, so that by the time they complete their education and enter society, they are already grounded in their civic responsibilities.

He also appealed to religious leaders to incorporate the teaching of Article 41 into sermons and lessons in churches, mosques, and traditional homes, adding that homes and workplaces must equally play their part.

“Such a collective effort will help build the Ghana we all desire,” he stated.

Touching on national cohesion, Dr Mortoti noted that Ghana is made up of people from diverse religious, ethnic, political, and ideological backgrounds.

Despite these differences, he said, the constitution demands unity and peaceful coexistence among citizens.

He referenced Romans 12:18, which says, ‘If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone,’ to reinforce the call for harmony and mutual respect.

“As a concerned citizen of Ghana, I urge all Ghanaians to put aside our differences and come together with love, skills, knowledge, strength, and the power endowed within us to work as one nation. United we stand; divided we fall,” he indicated.

Dr Mortoti stressed that hard work always yields rewards.

He expressed confidence that if citizens perform their duties diligently, Ghana would witness significant improvement across all sectors.

In such a nation, he added, citizens would no longer feel compelled to travel abroad in search of livelihoods but would instead choose to remain and thrive in the abundant opportunities available at home.
