Election polls live updates: Early voting in North Carolina tops one million before Trump visit as guru reveals how long 2024 results could take

More than one million people have already voted in the 2024 election from the battleground state of North Carolina.

Through Sunday, more than 939,000 people in the state had voted early in-person since it began last week. Another 78,000 people in the state voted for mail.

Election officials in the state have also received more than 11,000 ballots from North Carolina voters overseas and 2,700 members of the military.

35 percent of ballots were cast by Democrats, 33 percent by Republicans and 31 percent from unaffiliated voters.

The total represents about 13 percent of all eligible voters in the state having cast ballots so far.

On Monday in North Carolina, Trump said he was surprised by the massive early voting numbers in the state.

‘We’re so impressed. And, I think they have a pretty good system here… these are incredible people. Incredible spirit and heart… but the fact that they’d come out and vote in record numbers is pretty amazing to me,’ he said.

Arnon Mishkin, the head of Fox News’ decision desk, has made some big calls in past elections.

He says this one is so close it may take four days before the election is officially decided for Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.

The election is on Tuesday, November 5 and he said the decision may not be reached until the Saturday after the election.

He told Politico ‘the over/under is Saturday’ and added:

The race seems very, very close. I think we have to accept the reality that we don’t really know how close this election is going to be. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be close.

I think the real issue is what happens to Trump. I’ve always thought this about this election: It’s less about who’s running against him than it’s about Trump.

Donald Trump has not seen any cheating so far in the 2024 election.

The ex-president was pressed on whether he has ‘seen any cheating, incidents of cheating’ leading him to believe this election will be unfair.

‘Well, I haven’t,’ Trump responded quickly before adding. ‘Unfortunately, I know the other side and they are not good.’

His admission he has not seen anything fishy so far in this election cycle stands in stark contrast to his claims about the 2020 presidential election, which he has claimed was stolen or rigged.

Authorities, however, did not find that the 2020 contest was improper.

Gerald Ford’s daughter has endorsed Kamala Harris.for president.

Susan Ford Bales, 67, a registered Republican, said she differed from Harris on ‘some policy matters’.

She recognizes the goodness and the greatness in our country. I know she will defend the rule of law and our Constitution. And I know she will work to bring all Americans together to move us beyond partisanship.

Ford, a Republican, was the only U.S. president to come from the state of Michigan, which is one of the key swing states that will decide the 2024 election.

Over 1 million voters have already cast their ballots in the state as of Monday.

Trump said it was ‘incredible’ and that he could not believe that so many voters were focused on the election when many have nothing left.

Donald Trump was presented with an odd present while in North Carolina touring Hurricane Helene’s devastating wreckage.

Rep. Chuck Edwards, a freshman Republican who represents Asheville, North Carolina, presented Trump with a celebratory pin commemorating the ex-president’s McDonald’s stunt where he served fries to his supporters in Pennsylvania.

‘I also own McDonald’s restaurants and I know that you perfected your skills behind the counter a day or so ago and it was my honor to present President Trump with the french fry certification pin,’ he told reporters during a campaign visit to the town.

The crowd in attendance chucked and Edwards continued, ‘So thank you for being here.’

Across the United States, Democrats are out knocking on doors and rallying support with just over two weeks to go before Election Day. But north of the border in Canada, a flurry of activity ahead of the 2024 election is also underway.

The presidential race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris appears razor-thin, so Democrats are looking for American voters wherever they might be to cast ballots including Canada.

The exact number of Americans living abroad is hard to determine, but it is believed more than four million U.S. citizens living overseas.

The top country where adult U.S. citizens are living outside the U.S. is Canada.

Vice President Kamala Harris kicked off Monday with an appearance in the battleground state of Pennsylvania with former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney and longtime GOP strategist Sarah Longwell.

It’s the first of multiple moderated events the vice president will be appearing at with Cheney, Longwell and anti-Trump conservative radio host Charlie Sykes as she campaigns in the Keystone State, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The event in suburban Chester County on Monday was moderated by Longwell, publisher of the Bulwark. There, Cheney argued the vice president, unlike Trump, will be the candidate to defend the U.S. Constitution.

During the event, Harris took a series of questions from attendees, where they asked about her plans on elder care and maternal health.

‘I think that in this election, and especially here in Pennsylvania, we have the opportunity to tell the whole world who we are, and we have the chance to say we’re going to reject cruelty, we’re going to reject the kind of vile vitriol that we’ve seen from Donald Trump,’ Cheney said. ‘We’re going to reject the misogyny that we’ve seen with Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.’

Cheney said Harris has a ‘sincere heart.’

When asked about her closing pitch, the vice president said the country needs a healthy two-party system.

‘We need to be able to have these good intense debates about issues that are grounded in fact,’ Harris said with a laugh as the crowd applauded.

‘Imagine,’ Cheney chimed in.

‘Let’s start there,’ Harris continued. ‘Can you believe that’s an applause line?’

The event comes as Harris is looking to sway moderate Independent and Republican voters to cast a ballot for a Democrat in the November election including those who supported Nikki Haley during the GOP primary.

Haley won more than 9,000 votes in Chester County, PA in the Republican primary.

Cheney suggested some Republicans might not be public about it but will vote ‘the right way’ for Harris.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump visited the hurricane-torn town of Asheville, North Carolina Monday.

The former president spoke in front of huge mounds of debris and trash speaking words of hope to the town where many died from Hurricane Helene’s hellish impact. State data shows that at least 95 died in North Carolina as a result of the storm.

‘I’m with you and the American people are with you all the way. To every family that lost loved ones, we ask God to give you strength and comfort and peace. When I’m president I will stand with you until the communities are fully rebuilt,’ Trump said.

He also ripped President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamla Harris’ response to the hurricane.

‘The power of nature. Nothing you can do about it, but you gotta get a little bit better crew in to do a better job than has been done by the White House…I’m with you…We’ll see what happens in the election.”

Trump, while in North Carolina to assess Hurricane Helene damage, peddled a wild new theory about FEMA.

They were not supposed to be spending the money on taking out in illegal migrants, maybe so they could vote in the election, because that’s what a lot of people are saying.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz accused Donald Trump of disrespecting McDonald’s workers by going to a restaurant in Pennsylvania and working a shift making fries.

‘She actually worked in a McDonalds, she didn’t go and pander and disrespect McDonald’s workers by standing there in your red tie and take a picture,’ Walz said, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris, who has claimed she worked a summer job at McDonald’s when she was in college.

The five men involved in the ‘Central Park Five’ case in the 1980’s are revisiting their case by suing former President Donald Trump for comments he made about the case in the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The lawsuit claims Trump made ‘false and defamatory’ statements during the debate.

‘They admitted — they said, they pled guilty. And I said, well, if they pled guilty they badly hurt a person, killed a person ultimately. And if they pled guilty — then they pled we’re not guilty.’

Lawyers for the men argued that Trump’s statement was defamatory.

‘Plaintiffs never pled guilty to the Central Park assaults. Plaintiffs all pled not guilty and maintained their innocence throughout their trial and incarceration, as well as after they were released from prison.’

The Central Park Five were pressured into giving false confessions in the case but were exonerated in 2002 with the inclusion of DNA evidence that linked another person to the crime.

Harris has raised Trump’s reaction to the case back in the 80’s after running ads calling for the death penalty in the case as evidence of his racism.

The Trump campaign slammed Tim Walz’s appearance on The View on Monday for again dodging a question on whether he was in China during the 1989 unrest at Tiananmen Square.

Tim Walz STILL won’t own up to his pathological lying — including claiming he was in ‘war’ (he wasn’t) and claiming he was in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre (he wasn’t): ‘I speak in the moment’.

Nathan Wade admitted to Congress that his lover, Fulton County DA Fani Willis, was planning to prosecute Donald Trump before she took the job.

Republicans subpoenaed Wade to get to the bottom of his involvement in the ‘politicized’ prosecution of the ex-president led by Willis.

The pair have been engulfed in scandal since their romantic and financial relationship came to light after Willis had appointed Wade ‘special prosecutor’ in the Georgia 2020 election interference case against Trump.

According to a transcript of his closed-door deposition before the House Judiciary Committee last week reviewed first by DailyMail.com, Wade said he was on the ‘search committee’ to find prosecutors to go after Trump.

And he stunningly admitted that the committee was set up before Willis took office on January 1, 2021.

Wade also said that he met with several officials in the Biden-Harris White House on at least two occasions.

But he did not elaborate on those meetings, skirting direct questions about the nature of the visits with official White House staff, including from White House Counsel.

Former Trump ‘fixer’ Michael Cohen had another attempt to restart a lawsuit against his former boss thrown out by the Supreme Court.

Cohen filed a suit saying that he served prison time as a result of a negative book he wrote about Trump.

Trump attorney Alina Habba said in a statement to Fox News Monday:

Michael Cohen has exhausted every avenue of his pathetic attempt to drag my client into court time and time again. 

As expected, the Supreme Court has correctly denied Michael Cohen’s petition and he must finally abandon his frivolous and desperate claims.

A renowned international men’s magazine has publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president – as Kamala Harris’ presidential chances continue to dwindle.

MAXIM revealed its support for the Republican nominee through an X post on Thursday.

The post shows a bright blue convertible with Trump sitting in the driver’s seat. A model in a black dress sat cross-legged on top of the luxury car.

‘Maxim endorses Donald J. Trump for President,’ Maxim wrote in the post with over 137,000 likes.

The magazine publishes 16 editions and is sold across 75 countries around the globe. American entrepreneur and holding company CEO Sardar Biglari is the publication’s owner and editor-in-chief.

Kamala Harris will continue her media blitz in the final two weeks of the campaign with a sitdown interview with NBC News.

The vice president will face questions from Hallie Jackson on the network’s Nightly News at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Donald Trump has a 14 percent lead over Kamala Harris on betting platform Kalshi as of Monday morning.

The latest stats also show the former president has increased his odds on winning the key battlegrounds of Nevada and Pennsylvania by 10 points.

Trump has held a steady lead in the Vegas betting odds in the last two weeks, while the polls show the race is still a coin toss.

First lady Jill Biden revealed an enhanced public tour of the White House on Monday that includes new, detailed exhibits about the presidential mansion and a new room added to the tour list.

The new tour includes more historical information about the White House and behind-the-scene glimpses of first families.

The Diplomatic Room has been added to the tour for the first time. The historic room is where presidents greet visiting heads of state and it’s from where they exit the White House to board Marine One.

Other rooms have been opened up so visitors can step inside instead of staring in from the doorway, as was previously done.

New exhibits feature digital photos that can be changed out with ease. It also enables the exhibits to be easily changed for special events, like state dinners and the holidays.

There’s also an exhibit of life in the residence – the upper two floors of the mansion – with photos of family life of past presidents.

The opening exhibit of digital photos includes all the presidents who have lived in the White House. The East Wing worked with presidential libraries and, in the case of Donald Trump his office – to pick the photos on display.

About 10,000 people a week visit the White House.

The History Channel sponsored the changes, working with the National Park Service, which oversees the care of the White House. The History Channel donated the cost of project – about $5 million.

The new tour begins with a welcome video from Jill Biden and features a message from President Joe Biden.

These videos will be switched out next year to feature the new president and presidential spouse.

On Sunday, Trump passed through the golden arches and got behind the fryer at a McDonald’s in the Philadelphia suburbs – in a move designed to troll Kamala Harris.

‘I’m looking for a job. And I’ve always wanted to work at McDonald’s but I never did,’ Trump said as he introduced himself to franchise owner Derek Giacomantonio. ‘I’m running against somebody that said she did, but it turned out to be a totally phony story.’

‘So, if you don’t mind, I want to work the French fry counter. How much are you paying me?’ the billionaire ex-president said with a laugh.

His stop at the joint garnered a ton of media criticism by talking heads on the networks.

Vance, Trump’s VP hopeful, responded to much of the criticism on Fox News Monday morning.

He slammed the media for trying to ‘nitpick and micromanage every single thing that me or Donald Trump has said.’

‘… and yet they just buy into this narrative from Kamala Harris that she invented.’

Voters in Georgia are smashing early voting records as the battleground state is crucial to both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on their path to victory with just 15 days to go before Election Day.

Cobb County encompassing swaths of the Atlanta suburbs was one of the closest counties in the swing state that swung for President Biden in 2020 and helped him win the state.

Once a reliably Republican county, it has become more ethnically and racially diverse with a larger affluent, college educated population that has been key for Democrats in the state.

More than 100,000 voters in the county have already cast ballots in the election.

Democrat Kamala Harris is taking a staggering lead among early voters who already cast their ballots over Donald Trump.

The vice president leads the ex-president 63 percent to 34 percent, nearly 2-to-1, among those who have voted already, according to the USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll.

Among those who already voted, one in five said ‘abortion rights/women’s rights’ is their most important issue, the second most important issue behind the economy.

One in seven people who responded to the poll said they already voted and a third said they plan to vote early. Among those who plan to vote early, Harris leads 52 percent to 39 percent.

The poll found overall Harris leads Trump by just one point 45 percent to 44 percent.

After the dramatic shake up at the top of the Democratic presidential ticket, Democrats are growing more confident in their ability to hold the White House and Senate and flip the House with Kamala Harris as their presidential nominee.

But two congressional districts could help decide the country’s fate not just at the top of the ticket come November but also both chambers of Congress: Pennsylvania’s eighth congressional district and Nebraska’s second congressional district.

The case for watching these two districts to know where the election is headed was first made by former New York Congressman and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Steve Israel.

Kamala Harris set a record for the biggest fund-raising quarter ever this fall, raising $1 billion in the three-month period that ended Sept. 30.

She significantly outraised Republican rival Donald Trump.

In September alone she outraised Trump three-to-one.

The Harris campaign and Democratic political committees raised over $359 million that month, while Trump and Republican-affiliated committees raised $160 million.

Harris also has more cash-on-hand: $346 million compared to Trump’s $283 million.

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have set their sights on Pennsylvania as key to victory in the presidential race. But it is not their only path to the White House.

Last week, Harris visited the state twice with campaign events in Erie and Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Trump campaigned in Oaks, Pennsylvania, and Latrobe outside Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania with its nineteen electoral votes is the biggest of the seven battleground states that could swing either way and decide the election.

And the latest polling is showing the race in a dead heat in the crucial swing state, with Trump up just half a point in the Real Clear Politics average.

While the path forward to the necessary 270 electoral votes becomes much more complicated without Pennsylvania, it does not mean the race is over for either Trump or Harris.

President Joe Biden is proposing a new rule that is proposing a rule that would require private insurance to cover over-the-counter birth control pills and other contraceptives at no cost.

The rule would expand a federal mandate under the Affordable Care Act that requires health insurers to cover preventative care services at no cost to patients.

It would come into effect in 2025 if finalized.

Reproductive rights have become a huge issue in the 2024 election and Democrats see it as a way to rally their voting base to the polls.

‘This rule, once finalized, will expand contraception coverage for 52 million women of reproductive age with private health insurance,’ White House Gender Policy Council Director Jennifer Klein said.

In a campaign that is shattering spending records, a handful of individuals are accounting for a massive splurge that is driving the ad spending voters are seeing on billboards and smartphones in battleground states.

Among them are billionaires who amassed fortunes in railroads, hedge funds, and shipping platforms.

The five top mega-donors are all backing Republicans, with Donald Trump relying on their support to try to counter the edge Kamala Harris has garnered among individual contributors.

Topping the list is Timothy Mellon, the grandson of leading financier and Pittsburgh native Andrew Mellon. He alone accounts for $172 million in campaign contributions, with $125 million going to the pro-Trump MAGA, Inc.

He also gave $25 million to American Values 2024, which backs Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who ended his independent campaign and threw his support to Trump.

The former president put him on his transition effort and said he will take on health responsibilities in a future Trump administration.

Tucked away in the far northwest corner of country just before the cliffs drop off into the Pacific Ocean lies America’s last true bellwether county.

A decidedly purple place, the small, rural region of Clallam County in Washington boasts an unmatched record of voting for every presidential election winner since Ronald Reagan in 1980.

This is the longest success streak of any of America’s 3,143 counties.

Now all eyes are on this unassuming county once again to see which way the wind is blowing for 2024, as vice president Kamala Harris faces off against former president Donald Trump in a divisive, neck and neck race.

When traveling across Clallam County, the tight nature of the 2024 election is on full display.

Visitors heading west into town on Highway 101 are met with a series of Harris-Walz yard signs, shortly before a massive Trump-Vance banner shows up in the same stretch of field.

But while politics at a national scale have become toxic, in this small community where Democrats and Republicans have lived side by side for decades, residents have succeeded in keeping a calm head – or avoiding talking politics altogether.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine on Monday to insist the U.S. will continue its support with just two weeks until the election.

‘We’ve watched this fight evolve over time. And each time that it does evolve, we have risen to the occasion to meet (Ukraine’s) needs to make sure that they were effective on the battlefield,’ he added.

A large poll of 5,000 registered voters in the seven swing states that will decide the election shows Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in a tie.

The Washington Post-Schar School poll find both candidates on 47 percent.

The poll was taken in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada and North Carolina.

Harris fared in best in Georgia and Trump in Arizona.

Donald Trump has edged ahead of Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania for the first time in a major election forecaster.

FiveThirtyEight’s aggregation of polls puts Trump at 47.9 percent while Harris has 47.5.

The last time Trump led in the state that could ultimately decide the election was in July, just before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

The former president spent most of his weekend in the Keystone State and both campaigns will be spending a lot of time there in the final days.

As of Monday morning, Trump was also ahead by a hair in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Harris has the advantage in Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada.

New polling shows Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump with women over the age of 50 by more than any presidential candidate since 2016.

The survey shows that 54 percent of women in that demographic plan to vote for the vice president, over just 42 percent for Trump.

It’s a huge improvement from Joe Biden, who only led Trump by three points with women over 50 in January.

The numbers are also better than Hillary Clinton’s numbers in 2016, who polled 48p percent -40 percent over Trump.

AARP, who conducted the survey, believes that women over 50 can potentially sway the election.

The former presidential advisor and First Daughter posted a makeup-free photo with her family celebrating the Jewish holiday Sukkot.
