Black Queens midfielder, Jennifer Cudjoe has labeled their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt as a big test for them to conquer.

The Queens have been paired against a formidable opponent in Egypt, with the first leg scheduled for October 20, 2025, in Egypt, and the return leg on October 28 in Accra.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Cudjoe expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, stating, “Egypt is going to be a big test for us, but I feel like we are just ready.”

“With Egypt I had the opportunity to go there with my team so I’ve seen a little bit of them, they play similar”, she continued

The Black Queens’ recent bronze medal win at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, where they defeated defending champions South Africa 4-2 in a penalty shootout, has bolstered their morale.

Cudjoe highlighted the team’s experience in Morocco as a key factor, noting that the tournament provided an “upper hand” to build on for the upcoming clash, with veterans like herself, Evelyn Badu, and goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan expected to lead the charge.

Under the guidance of head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, who took over from Nora Häuptle earlier in 2025, the Black Queens are aiming to secure back-to-back WAFCON appearances after missing the two previous editions before Morocco 2025.
