Celebrated gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has announced plans to venture into the ride-hailing business, a year after receiving a car gift from Prophet ElBernard Nelson Eshun.

The “Makoma So Ade” hitmaker, who faced public attention in 2024 after opening up about his financial struggles, was blessed with a Toyota saloon car following support from well-wishers.

Now, in a surprising but practical turn, the veteran singer says he is considering putting a second car—a Honda—into commercial use through Uber services.

In an exclusive interview on Akoma FM’s “Akoma Mmre” with host Tony Best, Edward Akwasi Boateng revealed that he’s come around to a controversial piece of advice offered by fellow gospel singer Diana Asamoah.

After he received the vehicle last year, Diana advised him to use it for Uber to generate income. This idea initially angered Edward and sparked a public spat between the two artists.

But now, the gospel legend says he sees wisdom in her words.

“It is only a fool who does not listen to advice. I have accepted Diana Asamoah’s suggestion, and I have the plan to use the Honda for Uber business any moment soon,” I Apologize, he said.

Interestingly, Edward Akwasi Boateng isn’t planning to run an ordinary Uber service.

He explained that his version will cater to a niche clientele, focusing on wedding couples, funeral guests, and even corpses, positioning himself as a premium alternative to the traditional ride-hailing model.

“My kind of Uber will be different from the mainstream. I will not pick random passengers as they used to do. I will target wedding grooms and brides, corpses, and guests for special occasions,” he added.

The announcement has drawn attention from fans and industry watchers alike, with many praising the gospel star for embracing innovation and humility in the face of adversity.
