The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has dismissed claims that she misused a GH¢90,000 support package she received from the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

According to a report by myjoyonline.com on November 3, 2025, she explained that the money was secured under the NLA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Fund to rehabilitate the Anoenu Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in her constituency.

She said the funds were used solely for the intended purpose and not for personal gain.

“That was exactly what I used the money for; not a dime was spent by me. So, it is ridiculous for anyone to say that I will take state money and spend it for myself,” Dzifa Gomashie told journalists at the premises of the facility.

She explained that the GH¢90,000 support was invested in remodeling the health post into a more functional facility that could meet the reproductive health needs of residents.

“It was a one-room facility which I inherited from my predecessor, with a shed in front of it. As we speak, I was able to use that money and more to put up extra rooms, give them equipment, and build the water closet that I indicated,” she said.

She added that the project also included the provision of sanitary pads, medical equipment, and a borehole to ensure the clinic’s access to potable water.

“Additionally, we wanted to buy a polytank for the community to store water for the clinic, but the municipal assembly engineer advised me that it would be better if we had a borehole and mechanised it. So, there is potable water in the area,” she noted.

Dzifa Gomashie reaffirmed that the entire amount provided by the NLA was spent on upgrading the health facility to improve healthcare delivery in the community.
