Boxing enthusiast and Ghana Police Service officer DSP Ellis Kofi Attipoe, popularly known as Aristo, has visited the Black Bombers training camp in Winneba as the national amateur boxing team intensifies preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

DSP Attipoe, who has a strong passion for boxing, interacted with the boxers and technical team, offering words of encouragement and motivation ahead of the major international competition. He expressed confidence in the ability of the Black Bombers to win medals for Ghana if given the necessary support and motivation.

“I trust my boys and I know if we visit them and give them the needed motivation and inspiration, they will do their best for the nation,” he said.

The police officer, who has participated in courses organized by the Ghana Boxing Authority and Ghana Boxing Federation, praised the dedication of Ghana’s amateur boxers but noted that they are often not given the same level of support as the national football team, the Black Stars.

He also suggested that the team should embark on international training tours to enhance their preparations. The Black Bombers are currently training under experienced coaches Dr. Ofori Asare, Charles Quartey and Lartekwei Lartey after selection through the National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship.
