Côte d’Ivoire and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba faced a tough dilemma when asked to choose among some of football’s finest players, including teammates Michael Essien, Florent Malouda, and even himself.
In a video shared by the official X page of the French Ligue 1, Drogba made some surprising choices, notably putting himself up for sale while starting Malouda ahead of him.
In the Chelsea version of the challenge, the 2012 Champions League winner was tasked with deciding whom to start, bench, and sell between Essien, Malouda, and himself. Drogba opted to bench Essien, start Malouda, and sell himself.
The next round focused on players he had played alongside at the national team level.
Drogba chose to sell Didier Zokora, start Yaya Toure, and bench Gervinho.
He explained that Toure’s versatility as both a midfielder and defender earned him the starting spot over the others.
Having also competed in Ligue 1, Drogba was asked to choose between some of the league’s legendary players: Zlatan Ibrahimović, Karim Benzema, and himself.
Shockingly, he selected Ibrahimović to start, Benzema to be on the bench, and once again decided to sell himself.
The toughest decision came when Drogba had to pick between three of football’s finest wingers: Kylian Mbappé, Eden Hazard, and Franck Ribéry.
This time, Drogba refrained from making a choice, stating it was too difficult.
