Ghana’s conscious rapper, Dr. Pushkin, is flying the national flag high once again, clinching multiple awards at the prestigious Zepstone International Film & Music Festival 2025 held in South Jordan, Utah. The 3rd round of selections turned into what can only be described as The Dr. Pushkin & Friends Show, with the artist and his collaborators scooping up an impressive number of honors across various music categories.
Here’s a full breakdown of Dr. Pushkin’s wins at the festival:
1. Gold Medal for Best Music Video – “Empty Grave”, a powerful visual directed by Junaid Timtooni Yakubu and featuring B-Wayne.
2. Bronze Medal for Best Music Video – “No Heroes”, shot by Morttey Senanu and featuring rap powerhouse Lyrical Joe.
3. Best World Song – “Empty Grave”, produced by Dr. Pushkin, Dreamlife&Memory, and Lloyd Osei Baffour (Peewezel-Cue).
4.!Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song – “Winning”, featuring Quata Budukusu and Wyldthang, with visuals captured by Daniel Castillo at SXSW 2025, and production by Dr. Pushkin & Peewezel.
5. Honorable Mention for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song – “No Heroes”, produced by Phredxter Tequila.
An elated Dr. Pushkin took to social media to share his excitement:
