Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the NPP, recently met with the members of the 2024 NPP manifesto sub-committee. The meeting was held at his residence in Accra, where he expressed his gratitude to the committee members for their hard work.
Dr. Bawumia commended the committee members for putting together a comprehensive policy document, which was presented to Ghanaians during the election. He praised their dedication and commitment to the party’s vision.
Despite the outcome of the election, Dr. Bawumia told the committee members that he was proud of their work. He emphasized that the transformational policies outlined in the manifesto would benefit the party and the country in the future.
The Vice President attributed the party’s loss to voter apathy among over 2 million core voters across the country. He described the situation as if the party’s supporters had collectively decided not to vote.
Dr. Bawumia called for a comprehensive post-mortem analysis to understand why party members refused to vote. He assured the committee members that the party would conduct thorough research as part of their reorganization process.
The meeting was also attended by Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who chaired the Manifesto Committee of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign. Dr. Bawumia thanked him for his leadership and guidance throughout the process.
Dr. Bawumia encouraged the committee members not to view their efforts as wasted. He assured them that the document would benefit the party in the future, saying “God willing, we will all benefit from this document in the future.”
