Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, the Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Club Licensing Committee has questioned the timing of Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adam’s press conference on the Black Stars’ budget for the games against Chad and Mali.

Addressing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Mr. Adams revealed that the GFA’s initial $2 million request for September’s double-header had been reduced to $1.3 million following ministerial review.

The cost of the away clash against Chad in Ndjamena was also trimmed from an estimated $1.24 million to $841,290.

Reacting to this, Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh said he doesn’t think the budget was presented this week so the Minister could have chosen a different time to make it public.

“I don’t think the Black Stars budget was sent to the Sports Minister this week. He could have presented it at a different time.”

Chad will host the Black Stars at the Stade Olympique Marechal Idriss Deby Itno for the matchday 7 fixture of the qualifiers on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

The game between the Black Stars and Chad at the Stade Olympique Marechal Idriss Deby Itno will be live on GhanaWeb.
