Renowned Ghanaian musician Darlington Agyekum, popularly known by his stage name D Cryme, has been elected as the SRC President-elect of Methodist University Ghana.

The announcement, which surfaced online in the early hours of today, April 12, 2025, has been met with a lot of congratulations from fans, fellow musicians, and many others.

He won the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) elections with a message of unity, inclusion, and empowerment, under the campaign slogan “For Us By Us 2025.”

D Cryme, before winning this election, took a little break from doing active music.

Until his break from music, he was best known for his role in pioneering the “twip” genre, a fusion of hiplife and poetry,, and has been a prominent figure in the Ghanaian music industry since the early 2010s.

This new chapter in his journey reflects a commitment to student leadership.

    Congrats to him.
