Nigerian comedian and talk show host Gbadewonuola Olateju Oyelakin, popularly referred to as Teju Babyface has shared a piece of advice that many people might find surprising. According to him, if you cheat on your partner, the last thing you should do is confess it to them.
In a video he posted on Instagram, Teju said people who make that mistake often think they are being honest, but what they’re really doing is putting an unnecessary emotional burden on their partner.

“Do not confess to cheating, take all of that guilt turn it inward, stop and change your actions, not your character because essentially, you’re a good person. Confess to God, to your priest, to your counsellor, to your close friend whom you trust, but don’t ever put that weight on your spouse, that is not honesty, that is cruelty,” he said.
Teju believes cheats should focus on becoming better partners. He suggested that they show more care, affection, and attention as a way of making up for their wrongdoing.
“Be nicer to your partner in the wake of things, shower them with love, let them be asking ‘what is happening, why are you suddenly so nice’ and then you say ‘it’s nothing, and then shower them with more love. And do it out of genuineness, don’t do it out of guilt. Actually change,” he explained.
