Actress Gloria Kani has warned young women about a rarely discussed pitfall in relationships: dating broke men.

In a video shared on YouTube by One Ghana TV and restreamed by MyNewsGh.com, the Kumawood actress who is now an evangelist opened up about her own experiences, urging women to recognize the unseen risks of entering relationships with men who aren’t financially prepared for a future together.

“Don’t think of building a life with a broke man,” she advised. “It’s a setup. These men, once they get on their feet, often choose to start afresh with someone else.”

Gloria’s story highlights a pattern she believes can trap women in cycles of hardship. She points out that women often make sacrifices for partners who may not have the resources or commitment to support them long-term.

“It’s easy to feel like love will be enough,” she explained, “but without financial stability, that love can turn to resentment.”

Her words shed light on the importance of prioritizing financial security in relationships, especially in societies where single mothers often face stigmatization.
