Donald Trump has received a welcome message of support from one his longstanding friends in the world of sport after his friendship with Elon Musk spectacularly exploded this week.
Musk torched his relationship with the president in full view of the world on Thursday afternoon, claiming on X that Trump is named ‘in the Epstein files’ before saying he should be impeached and that his tariff policy will send the United States into recession.
Trump, 78, said Friday that Musk has ‘lost his mind’ and that he has no desire to speak to him again. But as the president licks his wounds, he will find support instead from an old friend with WWE legend Hulk Hogan standing firmly by Trump.
A source told Daily Mail: ‘Hulk’s support for the President will not and has not waned with his back and forth fight with Elon Musk.
‘Hogan has had a friendship with Trump for decades and he will remain fully supporting the President for years to come. Hogan has seen all the bickering and fighting like we all have, but that will not in any way change Hogan’s mind on what he thinks of his friend.’
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, is even prepared to publicly speak out for Trump if required. He has done it before – he gave a firery speech on Trump’s behalf at his Madison Square Garden rally last October, months after a delivery at the Republican National Convention last July in Wisconsin.

The source continues: ‘He made his decision years ago, and when and if Trump needs Hogan’s support, Hogan will not blink and give his full support to Donald anytime he needs or wants it. Hulk is not going to abandon Donald as their bond is pretty tight.
‘Hogan has showed his allegiance to the President because the President has showed his support to Hogan back when Hulkamania was running wild in the WWE.
‘Hogan also doesn’t care what people think about him for his support, if they love or hate him for it, so be it.’
Trump worked hard to build up a base of support in sports on his path to a second term in the White House. UFC chief Dana White hasn’t spoken about the incident but is a longstanding ally of Trump.
He welcomed the President to Madison Square Garden days after his election win last November – alongside Musk – for a UFC event.
Trump is also close with Tiger Woods, who is dating his ex-daughter in law Vanessa, and just days ago appeared at a rally in Pittsburgh with Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph – one of many NFL players who have previously supported him publicly.
But YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who shared an 18-minute video before the election last year in support of Trump, was less impressed.
He wrote on X on Thursday: ‘One of the problems with the Republican Party is on display today (As a current Republican) We unfortunately have these Alpha male egos and leaders who aren’t mature enough sometimes.

Musk torched his friendship with Trump on Thursday with an array of stunning claims
‘They’re 50+ years old and diss tweeting each other Elon and Trump are great but they need to work together and not make America look bad.’
Musk’s anger stems from Trump’s plans for a new bill on tax and spending.
Trump said the Tesla CEO was unhappy his administration has pulled back on electric vehicle mandates, which negatively impacted Tesla, and replaced the Musk-approved nominee to lead NASA, which could hinder SpaceX’s government contracts.
