The management of Stonebwoy has responded to claims by popular disc jockey DJ Lord, that they forced him to stop playing Shatta Wale‘s songs during the Guinness Accravaganza concert.

In a post shared on X on April 1, Stonebwoy‘s manager, Chief Stylz, refuted the claims and described them as fabricated.

He questioned why DJ Lord, who confirmed that one of the event organisers walked up to him and said Stonebwoy’s team would not be happy with him playing Shatta Wale’s songs, would then run with the narrative that it was Stonebwoy and his management who stopped him from playing Shatta’s songs.

“Just got off the phone with DJ Lord and he admitted it was a lady from the organisers that walked up to him to say Stonebwoy’s team will not be happy with him playing Wale’s songs. And just like that you run with it c’mon bro, think!” he said.

In response to Chief Stylz’s tweet, DJ Lord stated that he did not fabricate his claim and insisted that what he shared on social media was the truth.

He emphasised that the event organiser explicitly told him that Stonebwoy‘s team was not comfortable with him playing Shatta Wale‘s songs.

“I have been faultless all my years in this industry, and I have no reason to fabricate stories. The Guinness representative explicitly relayed to us, verbatim from her phone that ‘Stonebwoy’s team wasn’t comfortable with the Shatta Back-to-Back. I’m simply sharing what occurred,” he claimed.

Meanwhile, an audio has surfaced online where DJ Lord and Chief Stylz were heard in an argument.

In the purported audio, Chief Stylz was heard expressing disappointment in DJ Lord for spreading false news.

“Lord what you are telling us right now isn’t what you wrote on social media… It’s like you have an agenda and you know what you are doing. If you were a good person, you wouldn’t have done what you did because we didn’t speak to any organiser,” Chief Stylz was heard stating.

In another response, DJ Lord stated that the viral audio was a result of what he described as selective editing and that Stonebwoy‘s team did not seek his consent before recording the call.

“Recording without consent? Selective editing? That’s not how respectful communication works. I spoke openly in trust. Let’s not twist words to fit narratives,” he stated.
