Kumasi-based broadcaster Rexford Kwadwo Adu Ntim, popularly known as DJ KA, has returned to the airwaves of Kessben FM weeks after a leaked private video sparked widespread controversy and forced him to temporarily step away from his radio duties.
DJ KA reportedly resumed work on Monday, August 17, according to a Facebook post by media personality Sirr Joe.
His return has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues who have followed the controversy since it first emerged in July.
The broadcaster was thrust into the spotlight after a video showing him in a private moment with a woman began circulating widely on social media.
Following the circulation of the footage, DJ KA issued a public apology on Facebook. He acknowledged that he had recorded the video but denied being responsible for its release and subsequent circulation online.
He expressed remorse over the incident, stating that it did not represent the brands he stood for and appealed to the public for forgiveness.
Kessben Media subsequently issued a statement distancing the company from the controversy and confirmed that DJ KA had been asked to step away from his duties while an internal inquiry was conducted.
According to Sirr Joe, management explained that the temporary suspension was primarily intended to give DJ KA time to compose himself, regroup and deal with the intense public scrutiny that followed the circulation of the video.
It remains unclear what conclusions were reached following the internal inquiry. However, DJ KA’s return to Kessben FM suggests that the station has decided to move forward with the presenter.
Welcoming him back, Sirr Joe expressed his support and wished the broadcaster well as he resumed his duties.
“Welcome back, champion! I wish you strength, focus and a successful return to the airwaves,” Sirr Joe wrote.
