The Deputy Minister for Transport and Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has praised innovative drone solutions company Flyelevate365 for its commitment to advancing safe and modern airspace management in Ghana. She made these remarks during her keynote speech at the Ghana UTM & Digital Airspace Summit held at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra.

The summit, which was themed “Digital Airspace Infrastructure: The Role of UTM in Enabling Safe and Scalable Drone Operations in Ghana,” brought together aviation stakeholders, technology experts, regulators, and industry players to deliberate on the integration of Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) systems into Ghana’s airspace.

In her address, Hon. Affo-Toffey highlighted the growing importance of drones in areas such as healthcare delivery, agriculture, security, and logistics. She stressed that the government remains committed to creating a safe and enabling environment for drone technology to thrive while protecting the nation’s airspace.

She singled out Flyelevate365 for its pioneering work in drone innovation and training, commending the company for aligning with Ghana’s vision of building a digital airspace infrastructure. According to her, companies like Flyelevate365 are crucial partners in ensuring that drone operations not only meet safety standards but also contribute to socio-economic development.

“Flyelevate365 is an indigenous company demonstrating the kind of innovation and dedication we need to drive Ghana’s aviation and technology agenda forward. In its 3 years has emerged as a leader in Ghana’s aerospace”, she said.

The summit also created a platform for discussions on harmonizing regulations, enhancing digital monitoring systems, and scaling up drone use across industries. Participants agreed that UTM is key to unlocking the full potential of drones while maintaining safety and compliance in Ghana’s airspace.

Hon. Affo-Toffey reaffirmed the Transport Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and private sector players like Flyelevate365 to strengthen policies and infrastructure that support drone integration.

The Ghana UTM & Digital Airspace Summit marked a milestone in the country’s aviation sector, signaling the readiness of both government and private stakeholders to embrace technology for national development.
