Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Brogya Genfi, has held strategic discussions with the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ghana, aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting took place earlier today at The Square, Ministry of Defence, in Accra.

The engagement centered on deepening collaboration in key areas, including advanced training opportunities for Ghanaian military personnel and ongoing support for the construction of the headquarters of the National College of Defence Studies.

The facility, upon completion, will serve as the home of Ghana’s forthcoming National Defence University—an institution expected to significantly enhance the nation’s defence education and strategic research capacity.

Hon. Genfi noted that the meeting builds on the renewed momentum following President JoBrogya Genfiahama’s recent State Visit to China, which reinforced strong bilateral ties and opened new avenues for cooperation, particularly within the defence and security sectors.

He expressed Ghana’s profound gratitude to the Government of China for its timely assistance during the investigation into the recent helicopter crash, acknowledging China’s continued support in critical moments.

The Deputy Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to further strengthening defence relations with China, describing the partnership as essential to the country’s long-term security development and capacity building.
