Youngster David Oduro made a stunning first impression on his UEFA Youth League debut for Barcelona Atletic, marking a promising start to his European journey.
The left-back, who joined Barcelona Atletic from Accra Lions in 2024, initially enjoyed a strong run of form, featuring in five consecutive matches.
However, since then, his game time has been limited, playing just 15 minutes across eight matches and making only one appearance during that stretch.
Despite this, Juliano Belletti named Oduro in the starting lineup as Barcelona hosted Dinamo Zagreb at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
The young defender repaid the manager’s trust with an impressive performance in his first UEFA Youth League outing.
In just 45 minutes on the pitch, Oduro recorded 39 touches, completed 25 of his 26 passes, and won both ground duels he contested.
He also made two key passes, won a tackle, registered an interception, and made a crucial clearance.
In the attacking phase, he registered one shot on target and won a foul in the opposition’s half.
His contributions proved vital as Barcelona Atletic advanced to the Round of 16, securing a 5-3 penalty shootout victory after a 2-2 draw.
