Ghanaian music executive and Founder of D Global Records, David Mensah, has made a strong entry into the music scene with the release of Darkest Style, the label’s first official single featuring award-winning artiste Lasmid.
Released on Friday across all major streaming platforms, the song serves as the lead single from the upcoming album to be released under D Global Records.
Since its release, ‘Darkest Style’ has recorded impressive early success, currently holding the Number 1 spot on Apple Music Ghana and ranking among the trending songs on Audiomack Ghana, reflecting strong listener engagement and growing nationwide momentum.
Beyond streaming platforms, the song has become a major force on social media, generating over 100,000 user-generated videos across TikTok and Instagram reels.
The track’s infectious rhythm and dance appeal have fueled viral challenges, influencer participation, and widespread fan content, positioning Darkest Style as one of the fastest-growing digital trends in Ghana’s music space.
Serving as Executive Producer, David Mensah led the creative and strategic direction behind the project, reinforcing his vision of building a music brand focused on quality, cultural relevance, and global reach.
The single was produced by Mensah’s long-term creative partner, Afrolektra, whose signature Afrobeats production delivers a vibrant blend of melody, rhythm, and dance energy. Even before its official release, the song had begun gaining traction online, setting the stage for its current viral impact.
With its catchy hooks, playful lyrics, and feel-good theme centered on love, connection, and dance culture, Darkest Style continues to grow across streaming platforms, radio, and social media.
Speaking on the release, David Mensah said, “This project represents the foundation of what D Global Records stands for. Our goal is to create music that connects with people, competes globally, and builds a lasting legacy. The response so far has been overwhelming, and this is only the beginning.”
As the first release from the forthcoming D Global Records album, the single sets the tone for a broader rollout of music and projects aimed at positioning the label as a rising force within the African music industry and the international market.
