Per what is already known, the event is expected to draw thousands of mourners, fans, and dignitaries from across the country and beyond, as the nation bids a final farewell to one of its greatest musical icons.

Daddy Lumba, who was 60 years old, reportedly passed away on Saturday, 26th July 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra after a short illness.

His passing was officially confirmed by the Fosu family through their lawyer, Fati Ali Yallah, who appealed to the public to respect the family’s privacy during their period of mourning.

Following his death, tributes have poured in from across the music industry, with many describing him as a pillar of Ghanaian highlife and an inspiration to generations of musicians.

Already, President John Dramani Mahama has pledged that the late musician will be given a befitting burial, while the Inspector General of Police has also assured the family of full security and support throughout the funeral proceedings.
