Former Asante Kotoko skipper Danlad Ibrahim has predicted a victory for Kotoko in the upcoming super clash fixture against their biggest rivals, Hearts of Oak.

The Black Stars goalkeeper believes Kotoko have enjoyed a better run against Hearts at the Baba Yara Stadium in recent years and anticipates a continuation of that trend.

He expressed confidence in the current squad, describing their clash with the Rainbow side as a potential “Christmas present.”

“Kotoko has dominated Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium for some years now, and I believe this current team will continue that trend,” Danlad said, as quoted by SportsWorld Ghana.

“I trust the players, and In Sha Allah, Kotoko will use Hearts of Oak for Christmas.”

Asante Kotoko will host Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

The game marks Kotoko’s return to Baba Yara after playing at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium during renovations of their home ground.

Both glamourous clubs currently sit mid-table, making a win vital for either side as they aim to climb the league standings.

Asante Kotoko is 7th on the table with 18 points, having won 5, drawn 3, and lost 4 after 12 games. Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, sit just one point above Kotoko, with 5 wins, 4 draws, and 3 losses from 12 matches.

The Porcupine Warriors have not lost any of their last four home games against their arch-rivals, winning two and drawing two.
