German-born Ghanaian playmaker Daniel-Kofi Kyereh marked another positive step in his return from injury by scoring the winning goal for SC Freiburg II in their 3-2 victory over Hessen Kassel in the Southeast Regionalliga round 29.
The 30-year-old struck in the 89th minute to seal the win, completing a dramatic turnaround after Freiburg had surrendered a two-goal lead, with Mateo Zelic scoring twice for the hosts to level the game.
His impact follows his return last week against Trier, where he also provided an assist, signifying how important he’s been since coming back from injury.
Kyereh’s goal comes just days after he made his long-awaited return to action following nearly three years on the sidelines due to injury.
Now gradually regaining form and fitness, the 30-year-old is pushing to rejoin the senior team of SC Freiburg and hopes to feature before the end of the Bundesliga season.
