Danica Patrick has sensationally claimed her relationship with Aaron Rodgers was ’emotionally abusive’ and ‘wore me down to nothing’.
The former NASCAR driver, who has become a staunch supporter of Donald Trump in recent years, opened up on her relationship with the NFL quarterback to ex-ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele.
Patrick and Rodgers, who is still without a NFL team for next season, started dating in January 2018 and made their red-carpet debut at that year’s ESPY awards.
At the end of 2019 they bought a home together in Malibu and spent the first few months of 2020 living together in the trendy California beach town.
However, their relationship didn’t last much longer as they split in July 2020 after just over two years together.
But, talking about their relationship, Patrick sensationally claimed it was ’emotionally abusive’ and the breakup was ‘sudden’.

When asked to name the most painful experience of her life, Patrick said: ‘The breakup with Aaron in 2020, because it was sudden. It felt like it was my life.
‘So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life… and because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.
‘Someone that you know, people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood.
‘I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff – there’s been enough out there.
‘But it gave me the greatest gift, which is myself. It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.’

Rodgers, who was released by the Jets earlier this year after a shocking two-year stint in New York, has rarely spoken publicly about his relationship with Patrick.
However, back in 2022 the four-time NFL MVP heaped praise on his ex while insisting he looks back on their romance fondly.

‘I was dating Danica and that relationship was great for me because she is on her own journey and spirituality is important to her,’ he said on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast.
‘We both were finding our way, learning about different things [and] practicing meditation techniques.’
Almost half a decade since their split, Danica appears to have found love again after going public with a new mystery boyfriend back in September.
She also enjoyed a brief romance with Carter Comstock, co-founder of meal-prep company Freshly, following the relationship with Rodgers.
The football star, meanwhile, has a mystery new partner named ‘Brittani’ after short-lived flings with Shailene Woodley and Mallory Edens.
