Gospel music executive and media personality, Daniel Lartey

Renowned gospel music executive and media personality, Daniel Lartey, popularly known in showbiz as Dan Lartey, has issued a passionate call to gospel musicians across Ghana, urging them to foster unity, show unconditional love, and embrace diversity in the industry.

In a heartfelt open letter shared on his official Facebook page, Dan Lartey addressed the growing concerns of division, predictability, and lack of inclusion within the gospel music fraternity.

He emphasized the need for emotional maturity among artistes, especially when dealing with indifference or lack of support from peers.

“In this journey of ministry through music, one important truth we must all embrace is that not everyone will show you love — and that’s okay,” Lartey wrote. “If you choose to love, love without expectation. Let your expression of love be pure, not transactional.”

Highlighting his personal decision to lead with love despite challenges, he encouraged gospel musicians to avoid bitterness and focus on building a more peaceful and supportive environment within the ministry.

Dan Lartey also expressed concern over the growing trend of repetitive lineups at gospel concerts, suggesting that the current approach is limiting the genre’s growth and impact.

“The trend of booking the same faces and voices over and over again is slowly making our concerts predictable and, frankly, uninspiring,” he noted. “Diversity of sound, message, and gifting is essential if we want to grow, remain relevant, and reach the fullness of what God intends for this ministry.”

He concluded his message with a rallying cry to the gospel community:

“Let’s reflect. Let’s build. And above all, let’s love without expectations.”

Dan Lartey’s message has since sparked conversations within the gospel music community, with many praising his candidness and calling for intentional steps toward inclusivity and innovation in Ghana’s gospel.
