Ghanaian actor/filmmaker, Kwadwo Nkansah, aka LilWin, has opened up about the emotional toll the recent accusations surrounding his latest movie ‘Ibrahim Traore’ had on him.
According to him, the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba’s music was his source of strength during the challenging period.
The Kumawood star found himself at the center of controversies following a public feud with gospel musician, Diana Asamoah, during which she and other online trolls made shocking allegations of him being involved in “ritual sacrifices” so as to ensure the movie’s success.

But in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, LilWin said that the accusations were deeply painful.
“The lies hurt me very much. But they ultimately made me stronger. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, I would play Daddy Lumba’s classic hit ‘Yentie Obiaa’ (Don’t Mind Them) and it would renew my focus,” he said.
The actor-producer credited the inspirational track by Lumba with helping him push through the negativity to achieve a successful premiere for ‘Ibrahim Traore.’
“I was motivated to remain focused. I went on with the premiere and it was successful,” he shared.
The controversy began when Lil Win’s movie premiere coincided with a candlelight vigil for Daddy Lumba, leading to a public misunderstanding about his intentions.
