Veteran Highlife musician and godfather of the late Daddy Lumba, Adomako Nyamekye, has revealed that the spirit of the late singer has been visiting him in dreams since his passing.
In a video shared by Gossips24TV after a court hearing in Kumasi, Adomako Nyamekye said the encounters have left him restless, claiming he often struggles to sleep because of the messages he receives from Daddy Lumba’s spirit.
According to him, the late musician had made it clear even before his death that he did not want any form of embarrassment or controversy after he was gone.
‘He should dare and bury him on December 6’ – Lumba’s sister tells Abusuapanyin
“Daddy Lumba’s spirit is working. He always said he never wanted any embarrassment after his death. I have had many dreams about him since he died. I can’t sleep at night because of the things he has told me in my dreams. That is why I have been following this court case to ensure that Daddy Lumba emerges as the victor,” Adomako Nyamekye said.
The veteran Highlife musician, who mentored the late Daddy Lumba during his early years, was among several individuals who appeared at the Kumasi High Court on October 31, 2025.
The court appearance was part of ongoing legal proceedings connected to a family dispute over who should be recognised as the late musician’s surviving spouse.
The parties were present to file the necessary legal documents ahead of a Case Management Conference scheduled for November 14, 2025, in relation to Akosua Serwaa’s attempt to be officially declared the only surviving wife of the late Highlife legend.
On October 28, 2025, the court dismissed an injunction application filed by Akosua Serwaa seeking to halt Daddy Lumba’s funeral, which is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025, in Kumasi.
Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur ruled in favour of the family’s Abusuapanin, granting him full authority to proceed with the funeral arrangements as planned.
Addressing the ongoing family conflict, Adomako Nyamekye expressed hope that justice would prevail for his late godson.
He also commented on Ernestina Fosu’s decision to invoke the sacred oath of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, saying he expects traditional leaders and elders to step in and perform the necessary customary rites to settle the matter peacefully.
