The wife of the late Kofi, nephew of legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba, has shared a deeply emotional account of the events that led to her husband’s sudden death, leaving many Ghanaians heartbroken.

Speaking through tears, the young widow said nothing on that fateful morning suggested it would be the last time she and her husband would be together. According to her, they slept on the same bed and woke up together on the day Kofi passed away.

She revealed that Kofi had been unwell for about three days, but his condition did not initially appear serious. Though weak and uncomfortable, she said he remained calm, hopeful, and optimistic that he would soon recover.

The widow explained that during those days, Kofi vomited whenever he ate, yet he continued to push through the discomfort and tried to stay strong. Believing fresh air might help him feel better, Kofi reportedly asked to sit outside.

“I stayed with him outside and watched him closely,” she recounted, adding that she never left his side until she briefly stepped indoors to fetch him water from the fridge.

That short moment, she said, changed her life forever.

When she returned, Kofi’s condition had worsened dramatically. He was rushed for medical attention, but all efforts to save him proved unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the health facility.

The widow’s emotional narration has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Ghanaians describing the incident as painful, shocking, and difficult to comprehend.

The tragedy comes barely two months after the burial of Daddy Lumba, compounding the grief of the Fosu family and deepening the sense of loss surrounding the music legend’s relatives.

As the video of her account circulates on TikTok, sympathisers continue to pour in messages of condolence, strength, and prayers for the young widow and her child as they navigate life after the sudden loss.
