The family of the late Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has officially announced memorial activities to honour the music legend following his passing on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Baba Jamal & Associates, legal representatives of the Fosu family.

In the press release signed by Fati Ali Yallah, Esq., the family expressed their deep gratitude for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support from fans, friends, colleagues, and the general public.

They also noted that the late musician died after a brief illness, and the kindness shown during this time of mourning has brought them immense comfort.

As part of arrangements to honour Daddy Lumba’s memory, the Fosu Family also announced the following events:

1. Book of Condolence

Venue: Private residence of the late Daddy Lumba at Kinshasha Crescent, House Number 12 (GA-332-9264)

Start Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2025

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily

2. Candlelight Vigil Night

Venue: Independence Square

Date: Saturday, August 2, 2025

Time: 6:00 p.m.

It should be noted that the event will be held under the auspices of the Creative Arts Agency

The family has urged the public to respect their privacy during this time of grief while inviting everyone to join in celebrating the extraordinary life and musical legacy of Daddy Lumba.

They also assured that further details regarding the final funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
