As the battle over Daddy Lumba’s widowhood rites continues to unfold, gospel singer Evangelist Diana Asamoah has pointed fingers at the late Highlife legend, stating that he is to blame for the current confusion surrounding his home.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on October 18, 2025, Diana Asamoah stated that Daddy Lumba’s actions and unspoken truths may have misled his partner, Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni, into believing that he was no longer married to his legal wife, Akosua Serwaa.

“Everything that’s happening is Lumba’s fault. From what I understand, the things he might have told Odo Broni made her believe he was no longer with Akosua Serwaa,” she said.

According to Diana, this kind of situation is not uncommon. She explained that many men, especially those living abroad, often deceive women into thinking they are single or divorced when they are, in fact, still married.

“I know many men abroad who do the same. They come to Ghana and tell young women they’ve left their wives, when in reality, their wives are abroad. Some even tell their wives that a young woman is interested in them and has money to spend, so their wives should allow them to take advantage of her and bring the money home to support the family,” she added.

Currently, there is a legal battle is underway at the Kumasi High Court between Akosua Serwaa, Daddy Lumba’s legal wife, and Odo Broni, his long-time partner.

Akosua Serwaa has filed an injunction, seeking to be recognized as the late musician’s only lawful and surviving spouse.

In her suit, she is asking the court to declare her as the sole person with the legal right to perform Daddy Lumba’s widowhood rites.

She is also asking the court to restrain the head of the Lumba family, Kofi Owusu Fosu, from recognising or engaging with Odo Broni as a spouse of the deceased.

Also, Akosua Serwaa wants the court to prevent Odo Broni from presenting herself as the surviving wife of Daddy Lumba.
