In a historic and culturally rich ceremony held on January 19, 2025, Daasebre Boamah Darko II, Chief of Akyem Kukuratumi and Adontenhene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, enstooled Mr. Jacob Anin Kyeremanteng as the new Chief Linguist of the palace. This significant appointment comes after a 27-year vacancy following the demise of his predecessor, who was also a member of his family.

The colorful event, marked by deep traditional rituals and symbolism, signifies the commitment of the palace to enhancing communication and fostering unity in the community. Mr. Kyeremanteng, visibly elated, expressed profound gratitude to God and the kingmakers for bestowing this honor upon him. He acknowledged the weight of the responsibility and pledged to work diligently to promote peace and sustainable development in Akyem Kukuratumi.

“I am deeply humbled by this honor and vow to use my position to strengthen the bonds of unity and foster progress within our community. My focus will be on creating an environment where everyone feels included in our developmental agenda,” Mr. Kyeremanteng stated.

As a youthful leader, he took the opportunity to advise the younger generation to adopt lives of integrity and responsibility. He emphasized that exemplary behavior is essential for gaining the trust and respect of others when given leadership roles.

“My advice extends beyond the royal family to everyone,” he noted. “Living a life of unity, hard work, and peace is not just a personal virtue but a collective necessity. It is the surest path to development and progress for our community.”

The installation of Mr. Jacob Anin Kyeremanteng is expected to breathe new life into the leadership of Akyem Kukuratumi, reinforcing traditional authority while inspiring the youth to contribute meaningfully to the community’s growth. His role as Chief Linguist will be pivotal in bridging communication within the palace and the larger community, ensuring that cultural values and developmental goals remain aligned.

This marks a new chapter for Akyem Kukuratumi, one that celebrates its heritage while looking toward a prosperous future under the guidance of dedicated leaders like Mr. Kyeremanteng.
