After months of silence following S3fa’s quiet exit from Black Avenue Muzik, rapper and entrepreneur D Black has finally opened up about the state of his record label and the real reasons behind the talented singer’s departure.

In an exclusive interview with Zionfelix on The Uncut Show, the “Vera” hitmaker shed light on the inner workings of his label and the cordial end to his professional relationship with one of its most successful signees.

D-Black explained that S3fa’s departure was not due to any bad blood or industry drama.

According to him, It was simply her time to leave. He revealed that the original contract between S3fa and Black Avenue Muzik was for five years, spanning from 2017 to 2022. However, out of mutual respect and a strong working relationship, she stayed on for two additional years, finally parting ways with the label in 2024.”

“S3fa was actually supposed to leave in 2022,” D Black told Zionfelix. “But she stayed with us till 2024. We did seven solid years together. She’s the longest artist I’ve ever worked with,” he added.

He also spoke fondly of her growth, both musically and personally, saying that he is genuinely happy about how far she has come in the music space.

When Zionfelix asked him about how he sees S3fa now that she’s left the label and is running her own show, D Black was measured in his response. “It’s too early to rate her,” he said.
