Kwame A Plus has shared a message from Agona West Member of Parliament, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, directed at the NPP, particularly to the Majority Leader Afenyo Markin.

According to A Plus, recent developments, particularly in Parliament, have prompted her decision to leave the party.

Mrs. Morrison has in the past expressed frustration over the hostility she has faced from her party for supporting Ken Agyapong’s presidential bid.

She was removed from her position as gender minister and subsequently lost in the party’s parliamentary primaries in her own constituency.

In response to these events, she decided to run as an independent candidate, a choice that led the Speaker to declare her seat, and four others vacant.

This action is backed by the law which prevents a politician from transitioning from party affiliation to independent candidacy.

Cynthia’s removal from Parliament would result in the NPP becoming a minority, and this has sparked rumours that the party has persuaded her to withdraw her independent candidacy.

In light of these rumours, Morrison issued a statement denying claims that the NPP offered her money or pressured her to change her decision.

Shortly after, A Plus has revealed what he described as Morrison’s true feelings about the situation and the NPP.

He stated that she is fed up and would not hesitate to resign if the party continues with its current behaviour.

In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Honorable Cynthia Morrison has asked me to convey a message to Afenyo Markin: if they continue to misbehave, she will resign from the party today, which would leave the NPP as the minority in parliament.

“She has already prepared her resignation letter and wants them to know that the decision is now in their hands. I’m only a messenger, a happy one though. Thank you!”
