Ghanaian content creator and entertainer Big Paradise has opened up about dealing with criticism and online backlash, stating that negative comments will not deter him from pursuing his career goals.

According to him, although some remarks on social media can be hurtful, he has learnt to treat criticism as part of the journey toward success.

Speaking in an interview with Anita Akuffo on TV3 on February 2, 2026, Paradise explained that his upbringing, personal experiences and reading habits have helped him develop a strong mindset.

“I’ve learnt a lot of things for myself and because I grew up with my parents too, I got some things from them as well. I’ve been reading a couple of books too,” he said.

He shared that backlash comes with being in the public space and should not discourage anyone from chasing their dreams.

“What I see as criticism or when the backlash is too much, I feel it’s part of it. Me moving right from here, I know it’s bumpy and I would definitely cross it. If I say I’m going to sit back because of this, it would affect me,” he stated.

He further stressed that many critics do not fully understand his life or the effort he puts into his craft.

‘You will be a pastor someday’ – Esther Smith tells Bigg Paradise

“Way in, way out, I’m the one behind this thing and you people are just on your phones. When I sleep at night, what I know is that I know if what I’m doing will help me and I know if it won’t help me.

“You’re behind your phone and you don’t know much about my life so I feel the criticism is part of it. I just learn over them and move,” he noted.

Despite his resilience, he admitted that some comments still hurt, recalling one in particular that questioned his focus and dedication.

“When I see hurtful comments from people on the internet, it gets to me sometimes. One of the painful comments I read on the internet was when someone said I’m a young boy and I wouldn’t focus on my career and I’m chasing a lady. It hurt me because it looked like I didn’t focus on my career, meanwhile, I do,” he said.

He continued, “It’s not like I mounted the stage and I didn’t know what to do so what did the person mean by that? When I was working tirelessly last year, no one saw it and no one praised me.”

He further encouraged others not to allow obstacles to become barriers to their progress.

“Since the obstacles are part of us, it shouldn’t be a barrier to us,” he added.
