Ronaldo has extended his contract with Al Nassr to 2027 Ronaldo has extended his contract with Al Nassr to 2027

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027, putting an end to months of speculation about his future.

The Portuguese forward announced the news on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with a post on social media that read:

β€œA new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”

Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabian club in late 2022 after leaving Manchester United. Since then, he has scored 93 goals in 105 appearances across all competitions for Al Nassr.

The club confirmed the contract extension with a short statement that confirmed the new deal.

β€œCristiano Ronaldo is staying at @AlNassrFC until 2027.”

Talk of a possible departure had surfaced in recent weeks, especially after comments by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who suggested there had been interest from clubs wanting to sign Ronaldo for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

β€œThere are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup, who knows, who knows,” Infantino said.

Ronaldo, however, dismissed those rumours earlier this month during a press conference ahead of Portugal’s Nations League final against Spain.

β€œIt’s almost decided that I will not take part at the FIFA Club World Cup, despite receiving many invitations and proposals. There have been talks, contacts, but you have to think about short, medium and long-term,” he said.

There were also doubts after Al Nassr’s final match of the Saudi Pro League (SPL) season, where they lost 2-3 to Al-Fateh and missed out on qualification for the Asian Champions League Elite.

Ronaldo had posted on social media afterwards that his time in Saudi Arabia could be over.

β€œThis chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Many fans took that as a sign he might be leaving.

Despite that, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has now committed his future to the club.

With Al Nassr finishing third in the SPL with 70 points,13 behind champions Al-Ittihad, Ronaldo will be hoping to help the team bounce back stronger next season.
