The creators of the award-winning television series World Cup Black Stars & Fans Diaries have reunited to celebrate the programme’s 20th anniversary, rekindling memories of one of Ghana’s most iconic football productions.

Media entrepreneur and founder of Metro TV, Talal Fattal, has reconnected with seasoned broadcaster, sports administrator and author Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.

Their reunion comes two decades after the very first edition of the World Cup Diary aired, captivating audiences across Ghana and beyond.

The original series earned critical acclaim for its unique storytelling, behind-the-scenes access and emotional connection with Black Stars supporters during the global showpiece. It remains a reference point in Ghanaian sports broadcasting history.

Their coming together has fueled speculation that the duo could collaborate once again to deliver another blockbuster production for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The 2026 tournament, set to be the largest in history, will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States, offering a grand stage for what could be a memorable revival of the celebrated series.
