The Accra High Court has issued a temporary injunction in favour of Priscilla Ofori (Odo Broni), the partner of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, and her mother, Cecilia Minta, restraining Oheneba Media and two of its presenters.

The ruling, delivered by Justice Forson Agyapong Baah on September 26, 2025, restrains Oheneba Media, Oheneba Agyei Nimako, and Oheneba Serwaa Bonsu from publishing or causing any further publications about Odo Broni and her mother.

The injunction was filed on September 15, 2025, and a copy of the court order has since surfaced online through socialite Ayisha Modi’s Instagram page.

    Background to the case

The injunction follows months of criticism directed at Odo Broni since Daddy Lumba’s passing on July 26, 2025.

In several broadcasts, Oheneba Serwaa, one presenter from Oheneba Media questioned the legitimacy of Odo Broni’s status as Daddy Lumba’s wife, insisting that Akosua Serwaa, the musician’s first wife who resides in Germany, is the only lawful spouse.

The media personality argued that claims from the late musician’s family head that Odo Broni should be allowed to perform widowhood rites with Akosua Serwaa are wrong.

According to Oheneba Serwaa, Odo Broni was never officially married to Daddy Lumba but was only his “baby mama.”

These criticisms did not stop at Odo Broni, as her mother, Cecilia Minta, was also drawn into the controversy.

Oheneba Media presenters accused her of encouraging her daughter to “take over” the place of Akosua Serwaa in the family, labeling her guidance as improper.
