Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu can now file for an injunction against Lumba's second funeral Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu can now file for an injunction against Lumba’s second funeral

An Accra High Court has granted the Lumba family, led by Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, leave to file an injunction against Evangelist Papa Shee, Akosua Serwaa and others organising a ‘second funeral’ in honour of the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba.

This was confirmed by Dominic Kwadwo Osei of ‘Baba Jamal & Associates’, one of the lawyers for the Lumba family, in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie on February 13, 2026.

According to him, the family intends to file the application for an injunction “next week.”

“The court granted us leave to file the necessary processes for an application for an injunction… There is an intent to file an application for an injunction. The reasons will be fully itemised in our application… next week,” he said.

Daddy Lumba‘s ‘Celebration of Life’ event set for March – Papa Shee

Papa Shee had earlier announced a Celebration of Life event scheduled for March 28 and 29 to commemorate the life of Daddy Lumba.

This comes after the funeral held on December 13, 2025, which was organised by the Abusuapanin.

“We will do everything in our power as lawyers to convince the court, but the final decision to grant or not to grant the injunction lies with the court,” Dominic Kwadwo Osei said.
