Herty Corgie calls for more support for gospel music

Gospel singer Herty Corgie has revealed that one of the biggest challenges gospel musicians face is getting support to organise shows.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the Gratitude singer said one of the biggest struggles for gospel artistes is getting support from corporate Ghana.

She explained that compared to artistes in other music genres, gospel musicians often do not get the sponsorship they need from companies and event organisers.

Herty Corgie noted that she believes that as gospel artistes continue to work hard and produce high-quality music, support from sponsors will eventually come.

“One of the biggest challenges we face is the lack of support from corporate Ghana. Unlike other genres, gospel music doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves from sponsors and event organisers. However, I’m optimistic that as our industry continues to grow and produce quality content, we’ll attract more support,” she stated.

She also encouraged more collaboration within the gospel music community. According to her, unity among gospel artistes is key to helping the genre grow and reach more people around the world.

“Gospel artistes need to come together and support one another. When we collaborate, we can reach new heights and create music that inspires and uplifts people. It’s time for us to put aside our differences and work together to take the gospel message to the world,” she said.

Herty Corgie also shared her excitement about new trends in gospel music. She said many artistes are now blending traditional gospel with modern styles, which is helping to attract younger listeners.

“I think one of the exciting trends in gospel music right now is the fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. Artistes are experimenting with different sounds and genres, which is attracting a new audience to the genre. It’s wonderful to see young people embracing gospel music in new and creative ways,” she stated.
