    A woman has been found dead after officers forced their way into a home. 

    The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found inside a home on Joshua Street in Goulburn, about 200km south-west of Sydney, about 7am on Saturday. 

    The gruesome discovery was made after police received a welfare concern report. 

    Homicide Squad detectives have launched an investigation. 

    The woman is yet to be formally identified. 

    ‘Investigations into the incident are continuing,’ police said in a statement.
