Entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng has expressed concern over the growing controversies surrounding the funeral arrangements of legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba.
She suggested that the disputes appear to be deliberately delaying the process.
Speaking on United Showbiz on November 9, 2025, Vida Adutwumwaa lamented the ongoing misunderstandings and internal conflicts within the musician’s camp, which she believes are hindering efforts to give the late icon a befitting farewell.
According to her, several individuals and organizations are willing to support the funeral preparations, but the tension among family members has discouraged many from stepping forward.
“Everything is tailored to delay Daddy Lumba’s funeral. People are willing to help, but due to the misunderstandings and conflicts going on, how would anyone have the sympathy to help with the funeral?” she said.

Vida noted that the lack of unity and transparency among those managing the late musician’s affairs has created confusion and weakened public trust.
“At this point, we won’t bother about Daddy Lumba’s legacy anymore because we’ve realised the families are not willing to protect it. Accountability is now a problem. This is not fair for a royalty like him, especially now that he’s no more,” she stated.
Vida urged the parties involved to put aside personal interests and focus on honouring Daddy Lumba appropriately.
“Now we are just waiting. Whatever comes after, then we talk about it. But let’s all respect the two places that the controversy is directed to, which are the Manhyia Palace and the court,” she added.
