The Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a painter to three years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing an HP laptop computer belonging to a graphic designer.

Kelvin Boateng, accused, was sentenced to three years each on unlawful entry and stealing, which are to run concurrently.

Police Inspector Wisdom Alorwu told the court, presided by Mrs Christiana Eyiah-Donkor Cann, that Dennis Appau, the complainant, was a graphic designer at La, a suburb of Accra, where the convict worked as a painter and lived at Agbogbloshie.

The prosecution said the complainant and witnesses in the case were working in the office and the convict scaled the fence wall into another office, stole the computer and bolted.

Insp Alorwu continue that a witness, who saw the convict carrying the computer, raised the alarm.

The prosecution further disclosed that the complainant and the witness arrested the accused in possession of the laptop computer, and handed him over to the police. Boateng then admitted the offences during investigations. —GNA
